## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT STATED THAT AFTER HE FINISHED UP HIS APPLICATION OF CHEMICALS, HE WAS WORKING WITH THE SECTIONAL TO ASCERTAIN HIS EXACT LOCATION. HIS INTENTION WAS TO LAND AT A PRIVATE GRASS STRIP ABOUT 3 MILES AWAY. HE NOTICED THAT THE FUEL WAS LOW BUT FELT THAT HE HAD 30 MINUTES FLIGHT TIME LEFT. DURING THIS TIME HE STATED THAT HE MAY HAVE LOST TRACK OF TIME. THE ENGINE QUIT AT 100 FEET ALTITUDE AND HE CAME TO REST WITH THE AIRCRAFT ON IT'S TOP. HE WAS ATTEMPTING TO REACH AN OPEN FIELD JUST EAST OF COUNTRY ROAD 87. POWER LINES IN HIS PATH FORCED HIM TO PUT IT DOWN IN THE CORN IMMEDIATELY. BOTH UPPER WINGS SUSTAINED MAJOR DAMAGE DURING THE LANDING/FLIPPING OF THE AIRCRAFT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
