## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 07-20-2008 AT 14:30, PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS FLYING A MOONEY M20J, N201J MADE A HARD LANDING AT IJD AND BENT THE MAIN GEAR DOORS AND FOOT STEP. THE FAA LEARNED OF THE INCIDENT WHEN TOTAL AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE, AN AIRCRAFT REPAIR FACILITY AT HFD REQUESTED A SPECIAL FLIGHT PERMIT ON 07-22-08 TO MOVE THE AIRCRAFT FROM IJD TO HFD FOR REPAIRS. I CONTACTED THE PILOT 07-23-08 AND ASKED HIM TO WRITE A STATEMENT ON THE INCIDENT AND E-MAIL IT TO ME. HIS STATEMENT IS ATTACHED TO THIS FORM:

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
