(-23)ON JULY 24,2008, PILOT-IN-COMMAND OF MOONEY M20K, WITH AIRCRAFT REGISTRATION N252MX LANDED AT CHEHALIS AIRPORT ON RUNWAY 34 WITH LANDING GEARS NOT EXTENDED CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE UNDERCARRIAGE AND AFT CONTROL SURFACE OF THE AIRCRAFT. ## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX08CA247](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX08CA247), Jul 24, 2008: Mooney M20K (N252MX), Chehalis, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to lower the landing gear, resulting in a gear up landing.

## Other reports on N252MX (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19861030077639I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19861030077639I), Oct 30, 1986: Mooney M20K (N252MX), Amarillo, TX, Minor damage. Landed long during IFR approach, unable to stop before running off end of runway.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
