## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT APPROACHED BAF FROM THE NORTH AFTER RECEIVING THE CLEARANCE TO LAND VIA RIGHT BASE TO R/W33. AT ABOUT 1000 FEET LEFT TO FINAL THE CONTROLLER CHANGED THE CLEARANCE TO LEFT BASE TO R/W33. THE PILOT ACCOMPLISHED A 180 DEGREE AND TURNED TO FINAL. THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN HARD ON R/W33 AND THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED THREE TIMES. ON THE THIRD TIME THE NOSE LANDING GEAR STRUT BROKE. THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED DAMAGE TO THE NOSE GEAR STRUT, PROPELLER AND THE BOTTOM SIDE OF THE ENGINE COWLING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
