## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JULY 26, 2008, AT 1555 LOCAL, N620SR A CIRRUS SR22 FLOWN BY ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ DEPARTED FROM A PRIVATE RWY IN GALENA, IL. PILOT ATTEMPTED TO LAND ON RWY 29 AT 2800 FOOT RWY AT KRYV (WATERTOWN, WI). AIRCRAFT LANDED AT HIGH RATE OF SPEED AND BEGAN PORPOSING DOWN THE RWY LEAVING SKID AND PAINT MARKS FROM THE NOSE WHEEL AND COVER ON THE RWY. 5 PROP STRIKES WERE NOTED ON THE RWY 1200 FEET FROM FIRST TOUCH DOWN POINT. PILOT APPLIED POWER AS IT VEERED TO THE LEFT SIDE OF RWY STRIKING A RWY LIGHT WITH RIGHT WING. TRAVELING IN THE GRASS FOR ABOUT 100 FEET, THE AIRCRAFT GOT AIRBORNE AND WAS ESTIMATED BY EYEWITNESSES AS HIGH AS 60 FEET AND IN A VERY NOSE HIGH ATTITUDE BEFORE IT MADE A SHARP TURN TO THE LEFT CAUSING A STALL. AIRCRAFT IMPACTED GROUND LEFT WING FIRST THEN CARTWHEELED. WEATHER AT TIME OF ACCIDENT WAS:METARKRYV 262055Z AUTO 29009KTS 4SM HZ CLR 27/17 A299 RMK A02. PILOT AND PASSENGER BOTH RECEIVED SERIOUS INJURIES BUT WAS TOLD LIFE THREATENING. AIRCRAFT WAS DESTROYED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI08LA216](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI08LA216), Jul 26, 2008: Cirrus Design SR22 (N620SR), Watertown, WI, destroyed. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain adequate airspeed during the go-around, resulting in an aerodynamic stall. Contributing to the accident was the pilot's delayed recovery from the bounced landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
