## Narrative

UPON ENCOUNTERING THE TAIL WIND, THE AIRCRAFT STALLED. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE ATTEMPTED TO RECOVER FROM THE STALL WITH FULL POWER BUT IMPACTED THE GROUND. THE TAIL OF THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED FIRST.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI08CA218](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI08CA218), Jul 28, 2008: Cessna T188C (N3419J), Marion, IA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot not maintaining airspeed while performing an aerial application maneuver and the inadvertent stall he encountered. Contributing to the accident was the gust of wind during the maneuver.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
