## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JULY 28, 2008 ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS PILOT IN COMMAND OF N212GM A BE-95A ENROUTE FROM ST. THOMAS TO SAN JUAN, PR. WHEN LANDING AT THE LUIS MUNOZ MARIN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IN SAN JUAN THE LANDING GEAR WAS LOWERED AND WHEN THE THROTTLES WERE RETARDED THE GEAR UNSAFE HORN SOUNDED. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ EXECUTED A GO-AROUND AND WAS VECTORED NORTH OF THE AIRPORT TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. THE EMERGENCY CHECKLIST WAS USED AND THE LANDING GEAR WAS LOWERED MANUALLY BY A HAND CRANK. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ NOTED BEFORE THE LANDING GEAR WAS LOWERED MANUALLY THAT THE NOSE GEAR WAS NOT COMPLETELY DOWN AND THE LEFT MAIN GEAR APPEARED TO BE DOWN IN THE LOCKED POSITION. THIS VISUAL INDICATION WAS DONE VIA A MIRROR LOCATED ON THE LEFT NACELLE. AFTER THE GEAR WAS LOWERED MANUALLY ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ STATED HE HAD A GREEN GEAR LIGHT AND A VISUAL CONFIRMATION PLUS A MECHANICAL INDICATION THAT ALL THREE LANDING GEARS WERE DOWN AND LOCKED. OTHER THAN A GREEN GEAR LIGHT THAT CONFIRMS ALL THREE GEARS ARE DOWN, THERE IS A MIRROR ON THE LEFT NACELLE WHICH SHOWS ONLY THE NOSE AND LEFT MAIN GEAR. THE MECHANICAL INDICATOR ALSO CONFIRMS THAT ALL THEE GEARS ARE DOWN.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
