## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) 8/1/2008 AIRCRAFT TOOK OFF FROM PISECO AIRPORT (KO9) PILOT HEARD RATTLE AND BANG ON LEFT SIDE. PILOT MADE RADIO CONTACT WITH PERSON ON THE GROUND AND THEY VISUALLY CONFIRMED THAT THE LEFT WHEEL WAS HANGING DOWN. THE PILOT DIVERTED TO ALB AND LANDED ON RWY 28, VEERED OFF TO THE LEFT AND INTO GRASS. FOUR PERSONS WERE ONBOARD WITH NO INJURIES AND MINIMAL DAMAGE LIMITED TO LEFT GEAR AND FLAP. THE LEFT WHEEL AND STRUT ASSEMBLY WAS NOT RECOVERED. DAMAGE TO THE REMAINING UPPER STRUT SUPPORT DID NOT REVEAL POSITIVE FAILURE MODE AS IT WAS GROUND DOWN DURING LANDING ROLL.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
