## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON TAKEOFF FROM GRASS RUNWAY 20, THE AIRCRAFT DID NOT ACCELERATE APPROPRIATELY. THE POWER AND ALL SYSTEMS LOOKED NORMAL. THE ACCELERATION STAGNATED AT ABOUT 40-45 KNOTS. THE PILOT DECIDED TO ABORT THE TAKEOFF AND REDUCED POWER AND APPLIED BRAKES. THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN TO SLIDE ON THE WET GRASS SURFACE AND DEPARTED THE END OF THE RUNWAY OVER A BURM, ONTO A GRAVEL ROAD COMING TO STOP ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED ON IMPACT WITH THE ROAD. THE PILOT HAD SHUTDOWN THE ENGINE AND TURNED OFF THE FUEL MIXTURE AND MAGNETOS AS THE AIRCRAFT LEFT THE RUNWAY. PILOT WAS NOT INJURED AND DAMAGE TO AIRCRAFT WAS ON THE NOSE GEAR.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
