## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE CO-PILOT'S SEAT BELT HAD BEEN PREVIOUSLY WRAPPED AROUND THE CO-PILOT'S CONTROL STICK, A SITUATION THAT WENT UNDETECTED BY THE PILOT ON THIS FLIGHT. THE SEAT BELT INTERFERED WITH THE FLIGHT CONTROLS, CAUSING A PREMATURE ROTATION ON THE TAKEOFF ROLL. THE PILOT REJECTED THE TAKEOFF BUT WAS UNABLE TO MAINTAIN SUFFICIENT DIRECTIONAL CONTROL TO KEEP THE AIRCRAFT ON THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED THE HARD SURFACE AND TRACKED INTO THE GRASS WHERE IT CAME INTO CONTACT WITH A SIGN AND SOME LIGHTS. THE CONTACT CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE LEFT HAND WING LEADING EDGE, SUFFICIENT TO WARRANT CLASSIFICATION AS AN ACCIDENT.
