## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AN OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR PROVIDED THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION. THE PILOT PERFORMED A NORMAL TAKEOFF FROM MARYSVILLE AIRPORT, AND ENTERED A LEFT HAND PATTERN. THE AIRCRAFT ENTERED THE APPROACH END OF RUNWAY 9 AT APPROXIMATELY A 45 DEGREE BANK AND A 10 TO 20 DEGREE PITCH DOWN. THE AIRCRAFT OVERSHOT THE TURN TO FINAL THEN LEVELED THE WINGS AND PITCH ATTITUDE LOW TO THE GROUND AND SOUTH OF THE RUNWAY CENTERLINE. THE AIRCRAFT THEN PITCHED UP SUDDENLY AND ROLLED SHARPLY TO THE AIRCRAFT'S LEFT SIDE GOING INVERTED AND STRIKING THE GROUND. THE AIRCRAFT WAS DESTROYED BY IMPACT AND POST-CRASH FIRE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI08FA248](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI08FA248), Aug 14, 2008: Beech 58TC (N715TB), Marysville, OH, destroyed, 1 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain sufficient airspeed during the base to final turn resulting in an aerodynamic stall.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
