## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) WHILE IN CRUISE FLIGHT AT APPROXIMATELY 1,200 FEET AGL, THE ENGINE FAILED. THE PILOT EXECUTED A FORCED LANDING IN A CORN FIELD 7 MILES SOUTHWEST OF THE CRIVITZ, WISCONSIN AIRPORT (3D1) CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE TO THE LANDING GEAR AND PROPELLER. THE ENGINE FAILED DUE TO A PLUG EXTRACTING ITSELF OUT AND LODGING BETWEEN THE ROCKER ARM AND VALVE COVER OF THE NR 2 CYLINDER. THIS IMPEDED THE OPERATION OF THE PUSH ROD AND VALVE. THE PILOT IS THE HOLDER OF A STUDENT PILOT CERTIFICATE AND OPERATED THE FLIGHT WITH A PASSENGER ONBOARD.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
