As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS LETTING A PILOT, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ GET SEVERAL HOURS OF TRANSITION TIME IN HIS AIRCRAFT AS HE WAS BUILDING A SIMILIAR AIRCRAFT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS IN THE RIGHT SEAT AND ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS IN THE LEFT SEAT. ON SHORT FINAL, WITH THE RUNWAY MADE ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ TOLD ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ TO PULL THE REMAINING POWER OFF AND LET THE PLANE SETTLE TO THE RUNWAY. AS POWER CAME OFF, THE NOSE DROPPED ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ PULLED THE STICK BACK A LITTLE TOO AGGRESSIVELY AND THEN FORWARD TOO AGGRESSIVELY, AND THE MAIN GEAR CONTACTED THE RUNWAY QUITE HARD ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ CALLED "GO-AROUND" AND HE APPLIED FULL POWER AND BEGAN A CLIMB. THE NOSE PITCHED UP AS THE POWER CAME UP, AND ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ SHOVED THE STICK FORWARD FROM APPROXIMATELY 30 FEET AND WE CONTACTED THE RUNWAY SLIGHTLY TO THE LEFT OF CENTERLINE, IN ABOUT A 30-40 DEGREE NOSE DOWN ATTITUDE. THE AIRCRAFT SKIDDED OFF TO THE LEFT SIDE OF RUNWAY AND THEN CAME TO REST.

## NTSB investigation

None matched to this report by aircraft and date. Search the NTSB's own records: https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-main-public/basic-search

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
