## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT IS FROM MICHIGAN AND HAD RETURNED HOME PRIOR TO THIS INVESTIGATION. PER TELECON INFORMATION RECEIVED FROM THE PILOT, HE WAS MAKING A LANDING AT SHOW LOW, AZ. UPON LANDING THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED AND MAY HAVE BEEN CAUGHT IN AIR CURRENT. THE AIRCRAFT THEN GROUND LOOPED AND CAME TO REST NOSE DOWN. THE PILOT THEN STATED THAT HE IMPROPERLY HANDLED THE AIRCRAFT DUE TO THE BOUNCE AND THE CONDITIONS. THERE WERE NO INJURIES DUE TO THE ACCIDENT. THE AIRCRAFT WAS INSPECTED AT AIR TRANSPORT IN PHOENIX AZ. THE AIRCRAFT HAS SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE. THE ENTIRE UPPER WING IS NO LONGER ATTACHED TO THE AIRCRAFT, THERE IS DAMAGE TO RIGHT LANDING GEAR, AND BUCKLING OF THE FUSELAGE IS EVIDENT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA08CA181](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA08CA181), Aug 17, 2008: Eberle Pitts S1S (N39124), Show Low, AZ, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot failed to maintain directional control during landing. Contributing to the accident was the pilot's limited experience in the airplane.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
