## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT DEVELOPED INTERMITTENT POWER WHILE PILOT CIRCLED FORCED LANDING AREA. ENGINE QUIT AND PILOT LANDED WITH MINOR DAMAGE TO TAILWHEEL AND PROPS TIPS. THE ENGINE INSPECTED AND A TEAR DOWN WAS CONDUCTED BY PRO-TURBINE IN HOT SPRINGS, AR. NO PROBLEMS WERE FOUND. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE PILOT HAD BEEN SPRAYING 3 FIELDS IN A RACE TRACK PATTERN, MAKING ALL TURNS TO THE LEFT. A SERVICE BULLETIN ASSOCIATED WITH THIS TYPE OF AIRCRAFT STATES THAT THIS KIND OF MANEUVERING CAN CAUSE FUEL MIGRATION WITHIN THE TANKS, AND CAN CAUSE INTERUPTED FUEL FLOW AND POSSIBLE ENGINE FUEL STARVATION. THERE WAS PLENTY OF FUEL IN THE TANKS AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT, BUT DUE TO THE MANNER IN WHICH THE PILOT WAS FLYING, IT LEAD TO A FUEL STARVATION ISSUE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
