## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT WANTED TO LAND PAST THE FIRST 1/3 OF THE RUNWAY BECAUSE IT APPEARED TO BE TO ROUGH. THE PILOT ADDED POWER TO EXTEND HIS LANDING, FLOATED THEN SETTLED ONTO THE RUNWAY. HE THEN DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH RUNWAY REMAINING TO STOP, HE APPLIED POWER BUT DID NOT REGAIN FLIGHT. THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK A TREE STUMP WITH THE LEFT ELEVATOR AND CAME TO REST ON THE FAR SIDE OF THE CREEK OFF THE END OF THE RUNWAY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC08CA114](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC08CA114), Sep 1, 2008: Cessna 207 (N91027), Fairbanks, AK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's delay in aborting the landing. A factor contributing to the accident was a variable wind.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
