## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 09/05/08 AIRCRAFT DEPARTED FARMINGDALE AIRPORT (BLM) AT APPROXIMATELY 1300 ON A LOCAL VFR PHOTO FLIGHT. AT 3.5 MILES FROM THE AIRPORT, AIRCRAFT LOST POWER AND PIC ELECTED TO DO EMERGENCY LANDING ON GARDEN STATE PARKWAY (EXIT 103). FAA INSPECTOR WITNESSED AIRCRAFT RUN UP AND VERIFIED ENGINE WOULD NOT MAKE POWER DUE TO AN UNKNOWN MECHANICAL PROBLEM.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
