## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING A NORMAL LANDING, ONE PASSENGER FAILED TO HOLD ON TIGHTLY AND SHE LOST HER BALANCE AND FELL AGAINST ANOTHER ELDERLY PASSENGER, CAUSING HER TO FALL AND BREAK BOTH OF HER LEGS. THE PILOT HAD INSTRUCTED THE PASSENGERS TO HOLD ON DURING LANDING.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI08CA281](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI08CA281), Sep 11, 2008: Firefly Balloons 8B-15 (N2053D), Springfield, IL, no damage. Probable cause: The failure of the passenger to follow the pilot's instructions by not steadying herself during the landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
