## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT WAS EXECUTING THE LOCALIZER 36 APPROACH INTO ARV. AT ONE MILE FINAL THE AIRCRAFT WAS AT MINIMUM DECISION ALTITUDE FOR THE APPROACH. AT 1/2 MILE THE AIRCRAFT CLIMBED 300 FEET, MADE A LEFT TURN, DESCENDED 200 FEET AND THEN LOST CONTROL AND CRASHED IN A 80 DEGREE NOSE DOWN ATTITUDE. RADAR TRACKING SHOWS ERRATIC ALTITUDE AND GROUNDSPEED BETWEEN THE OUTER MARKER AND THE MISSED APPROACH POINT. BASED ON METAR WEATHER DATA, CEILING WAS AT THE MINIMUM DESCENT ALTITUDE ALLOWED BY THE APPROACH APPROXIMATELY 8 MINUTES AFTER THE CRASH AND WELL BELOW MINIMUMS WITHIN 45 MINUTES AFTER. ENGINE WAS RUNNING AT IMPACT BASED ON PROPELLER SCARS AND WITNESS STATEMENTS. ALL CONTROLS APPEARED TO BE INTACT UNTIL IMPACT BASED ON WRECKAGE EVALUATION.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
