## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

CHAUTAUQUA FLIGHT 5340 OPERATING ON SEPTEMBER 13, 2008 FROM STL TO MSP, DIVERTED TO MLI BASED ON REPORT OF SMOKE IN THE CABIN. CREWMEMBERS INITIATED AN EMERGENCY EVACUATION UTILIZING MAIN CABIN DOOR AND BOTH OVERWING WINDOW EXITS. FLIGHT ATTENDANT INDICATED FORWARD GALLEY DOOR NOT USED DUE TO A CONCERN REGARDING DISTANCE FROM AIRCRAFT TO GROUND. TWENTY TWO PASSENGERS EVACUATED WITH NO INJURIES DURING ESTIMATED TIME OF ONE MINUTE. NO EXIT MALFUNCTIONS WERE REPORTED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
