## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE ENROUTE FROM MDW TO BDL, FLIGHT 1206 DECLARED AN EMERGENCY DUE TO SMOKE FUMES IN THE REAR OF THE CABIN. THE AIRCRAFT DIVERTED TO SOUTH BEND, IN (KSBN) AND LANDED AT 0211 UTC ON 09/15/2008 WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. MDW MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL DISPATCHED TO SOUTH BEND DISCOVERED A BURNED OUT GASPER FAN, WHICH WAS REPLACED. AN SDR WILL BE FILED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
