## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) NWA FLT #20, ON CLIMB-OUT AFTER RETRACTING FLAPS AT APPROXIMATELY 5,000 FEET THE AIRCRAFT DISPLAYED AN EICAS MESSAGE "STAB TRIM 3". SHORTLY AFTER, ANOTHER EICAS MESSAGE APPEARED "STAB TRIM 2", FOLLOWED BY AN "AUTOPILOT" CAUTION. THE STABILIZER TRIM WAS STUCK AT 5.8 UNITS OF STAB TRIM. LEFT AND RIGHT MANUAL TRIM SWITCHES AND ALTERNATE TRIM WAS INEFFECTIVE. AN EMERGENCY WAS DECLARED AND THE AIRCRAFT LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE STAB TRIM DRIVE (P/N 65B80562) MECHANISM WAS REPLACED AND THE AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO SERVICE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
