## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 9-26-08 AT ABOUT 1500 CDT, N6266J WHILE ATTEMPTING A TAKEOFF, CAME TO REST BEYOND THE BOUNDARIES OF THE PRIVATE AIRSTRIP, CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. THE PILOT, WHO IS ALSO A FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR WAS GIVING A DEMONSTRATION FLIGHT TO THE OWNER OF THE AIRCRAFT, WHO IS NOT A PILOT. THE OWNER'S GRANDSON WAS ALSO ONBOARD. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO GET THE AIRPLANE AIRBORNE ON THE SHORT STRIP (2024') BEFORE THE AIRCRAFT HAD SUFFICIENT SPEED. THE ENGINE WAS PUSHED INTO THE FIREWALL AND THERE WAS LEADING EDGE DAMAGE TO BOTH WINGS AS WELL AS LANDING GEAR DAMAGE.

Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
