## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING THE AFTER LANDING ROLL OUT THE PILOT APPLIED THE BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN. THE PILOT ENCOUNTERED A LEFT AND RIGHT OSCILLATION. THE PILOT TRIED TO MAINTAIN CONTROL WITH NOSE WHEEL STEERING, BUT THE OSCILLATIONS INCREASED AND HE LOST CONTROL. THE AIRCRAFT VEERED LEFT, FLIPPED FORWARD ONTO ITS NOSE AND THE LEFT SIDE, COMING TO REST ON THE LEFT SIDE. THE AIRCRAFT ENGINE REMAINED RUNNING AND THE PILOT SHUT IT DOWN. THE PILOT UNBUCKLED HIMSELF AND EXITED THE AIRCRAFT. THERE WAS NO FIRE. THE PILOT DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES. THE PILOT INDICATED HE HAD REPLACED THE BRAKE PADS ON THE TWO MAIN GEAR WHEELS ON 9/26/-2008. DAMAGE WAS NOTED TO THE NOSE LEFT WING AND A BENT KEEL TUBE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA08CA212](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA08CA212), Sep 27, 2008: Sport Flight International Astra (N3115C), Spokane, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's excessive use of brakes and failure to maintain directional control during the landing roll.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
