PILOT REPORTED ENGINE RUNNING ROUGH ON CLIMB OUT AT 1400 FEET MSL. PILOT ELECTED TO RETURN TO AIRPORT FOR LANDING IN OPPOSITE DIRECTION. PILOT STATED THE ENGINE STOPPED RUNNING AND SEIZED UP AT 1200 FEET MSL BEFORE LANDING.
