## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE HOMEBUILT AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED AN EMERGENCY CONDITION DURING CRUISE FLIGHT; SPECIFICALLY, THE LOSS OF ALL ENGINE OIL PRESSURE. THE AIRMAN CONFIRMED LOSS OF ENGINE OIL PRESSURE BY OBSERVING SMOKE COMING FROM THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT AND OIL ACCUMULATING ON THE WINDSCREEN. THE PILOT DECIDED TO LAND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE WHEN OIL WAS OBSERVED TO BE LEAKING INTO THE COCKPIT AREA. THE ALUMINUM RIGID LINE FLARE ON THE ENGINE OIL COOLER HOUSING WAS FOUND TO BE BROKEN. PHOTO'S ARE AVAILABLE IN CASE FILE LOCATED AT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
