## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON TAKE-OFF FROM MORRISTOWN MUNICIPAL AIRPORT (KMMU) THE CREW OBSERVED SMOKE AND FUMES COMING FROM THE FORWARD GALLEY AREA. THE CREW DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND LANDED ON RUNWAY 23 AT KMMU. THE CREW WAS ADVISED TO STOP ASAP AND DISEMBARK THE PASSENGERS. THE TWO CREW (2) AND THE FOUR PASSENGERS (4) DISEMBARED ON RUNWAY 23, THERE WERE ON INJURIES. THE ARFF RESPONDED AND FOUND NO EVIDENCE OF FIRE ON BOARD ONLY SMOKE AND FUMES. THE SMOKE AND FUMES WERE COMING FROM A PANEL WHICH CONTAINED THE REFUELING PANEL, THE GALLEY OVEN TIMER AND THE LONG RANGE NAVIGATION SYSTEM DATA BASE LOADER. THE AIRCRAFT WILL BE REPAIRED BY THE COMPANY MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT PRIOR TO IT BEING RETURNED TO SERVICE. THE NTSB DID NOT RESPOND TO THIS EVENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
