## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) A WITNESS REPORTED THE AIRCRAFT PORPOISED AFTER TAKEOFF AND CONTINUED TO DO SO AS IT HEADED NORTHBOUND. THE AIRCRAFT CRASHED UNDER UNKNOWN CIRCUMSTANCES 26 MILES NORTH OF ANCHORAGE. THE ONLY SOLE ON BOARD RECEIVED FATAL INJURIES. THE ON SCENE INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THE BALLISTIC RECOVERY SYSTEM DID NOT DEPLOY PRIOR TO THE ACCIDENT. AN FAA AIRWORTHINESS INSPECTOR DISARMED THE EQUIPMENT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC09FA003](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC09FA003), Oct 3, 2008: Antonovich Anton B Challenger II (N7511J), Chugiak, AK, substantial damage, 1 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain control of the airplane while maneuvering, resulting in an in-flight collision with trees. Contributing to the accident was the pilot's lack of experience.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
