## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PIC STATED GEAR WAS SELECTED DOWN FOR LANDING DURING FINAL APPROACH TO CHARLOTTE DOUGLAS INTL AIRPORT (CLT), THE PILOT HEARD THE GEAR EXTEND, HOWEVER THE GEAR DOWN LIGHT DID NOT ILLUMINATE. THE PILOT ELECTED TO DEPART TRAFFIC TO THE EAST TO RUN EMERGENCY CHECKLIST AND TO ATTEMPT TO MANUALLY EXTEND GEAR. SEVERAL PASSES WERE MADE FOR MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL ON GROUND TO CONFIRM GEAR WAS NOT DOWN. THE AIRCRAFT WAS DIVERTED TO JQF, TWO PASSES MADE, CONFIRMING NOSE GEAR WOULD NOT EXTEND. THE FINAL APPROACH WAS INITIATED WITH GEAR IN THE UP POSITION, ENGINES SHUTDOWN ON SHORT FINAL, PROPELLERS FEATHERED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
