## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON OCT 11, 2008 AT APPROX 1745 PDT A PIPER PA-38, N2572N, WITH A PRIVATE PILOT OPERATING THE CONTROLS, SOLO, HIT A CARGO TRUCK WHILE ON APPROACH TO RUNWAY 30 AT SIERRA SKYPARK (E79). THE CARGO TRUCK WAS TRAVELING WESTBOUND AT 50 MPH, ON A WELL TRAVELED ROAD PERPENDICULAR TO THE RUNWAY BY APPROX 200 FEET. THE PILOT MADE THE STATEMENT THAT THIS WAS HIS 11TH TAKEOFF AND LANDING AT THE AIRPORT AND HAD BEEN PRACTICING LANDINGS FOR APPROX 1:45 HRS. THE AIRCRAFTS RIGHT GEAR TORE OFF THE ROOF OF THE CARGO TRUCK, PROCEEDED TOWARDS THE RUNWAY AND THEN "PANCAKED" APPROX 50 FEET FROM THE APPROACH END OF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED EXTREME SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE, YET THE COCKPIT AREA REMAINED INTACT. THERE WAS NO FIRE AND THE PILOT ONLY SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES. (HEAD HIT WINDSCREEN YET SHOULDER HARNESS HELD).
