## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT REPORTED THAT DURING DESCENT, HE NOTICED A VIBRATION IN THE SEAT. HE SCANNED THE ENGINE INSTRUMENTS AND DID NOT SEE ANY DISCREPANCIES. HE LOOKED OUT AT THE LEFT ENGINE AND SAW SOME VIBRATION AT THE SPINNER. AFTER RESCANNING THE ENGINE INSTRUMENTS AND NOTICING MORE VIBRATION, HE INITIATED LEFT ENGINE SHUT DOWN. HE DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND LANDED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. EXAMINATION OF THE ENGINE REVEALED INTERNAL COMPONENT FAILURE CAUSING ENGINE VIBRATION AND SUBSEQUENT SHUTDOWN. INCIDENT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ IS CLOSED WITH THIS REPORT.

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19931024052399A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19931024052399A), Oct 24, 1993: Piper PA60602P (N6891M), Falls Of Rough, KY, Substantial damage. Back taxiing saw aircraft on final. Taxied off runway. Soft turf. Right main gear collapsed taxiing onto runway.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
