## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT STATED HE HAD A ROUGH RUNNING ENGINE PRIOR TO TAKEOFF. THE PILOT CONDUCTED A MAGNETOS CHECK WITH ON SIGN OR INDICATION OF ANY PROBLEMS. THEPILOT THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE CARBURETOR ICE AND CONDUCTED SEVERAL HIGH SPEED AND LOW SPEED TAXIS WITH AND WITHOUT CARBURETOR HEAT. THE PROBLEM CLEAR ITSELF AND THE PILOT DECIDED TO CONDUCT A FLIGHT CHECK OF THE AIRCRAFT. ON TAKEOFF THE PILOT STATED THE AIRCRAFT HAD FULL THROTTLE AND 2400RPM, LESS THAN HALFWAY DOWN THE RUNWAY AT AN ALTITUDE OF 50 FEET THE ENGINE STOPPED PRODUCING POWER. ON A HEADING OF NORTHEAST AND WINGS LEVEL THE AIRCRAFT MADE A FLAT TURNING SKID TO THE RIGHT, THE AIRCRAFT STALLED AND CRASH ABOUT 100 TO 150 FEET SHORT OF A PRIVATE LANDING STRIP ON THE FARM.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)
