## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING APPROACH FOR LANDING AT PALOMAR AIRPORT (CRQ), THE PILOT WAS UNABLE TO GET THE LANDING GEAR TO EXTEND, EITHER NORMALLY OR USING THE EMERGENCY GEAR EXTENSION SYSTEM. AN EMERGENCY WAS DECLARED AND A GEAR-UP WAS ACCOMPLISHED WITHOUT INJURY TO EITHER OCCUPANT OF THE AIRCRAFT. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE WITH NO FIRE. SUBSEQUENT INVESTIGATION DETERMINED THAT THE COUPLING (P/N B100-06) BETWEEN THE LANDING GEAR MOTOR TRANSMISSION AND THE DRIVE ACTUATOR HAD BROKEN.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
