## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ REPORTS HE WAS PRACTICING SHORT-FIELD LANDINGS AT KFNL. HE HAD COMPLETED TWO WHEN HE STARTED TO LEAVE THE PATTERN. HE THEN CHANGED HIS MIND AND RETURNED FOR ONE MORE PRACTICE SHORT-FIELD LANDING. HE WAS DISTRACTED BY A HELICOPTER ENTERING THE PATTERN WHILE ON DOWNWIND LEG AND FORGOT TO LOWER HIS LANDING GEAR PRIOR TO TOUCHDOWN. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ HAS LISTED SEVERAL CORRECTIVE ACTION/STRATEGIES HE PLANS TO INSTALL/USE TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING AGAIN.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
