## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON OCTOBER 25, 2008, AT 1200 LOCAL TIME, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, A PRIVATE PILOT OPERATING A WOODY PUSHER WAS2-DG EXPERIMENTAL AIRCRAFT, DEPARTED FROM A RUNWAY LOCATED AT 62ND NW AND JENNINGS IN TOPEKA, KANSAS. AFTER TAKING OFF, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ TOOK EMERGENCY ACTION DUE TO AN EXHAUST BOLT THAT CAME LOOSE AND HIT THE PROPELLER OF THE AIRCRAFT AND DAMAGED IT. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ LANDED THE AIRCRAFT IN A BEAN FIELD ADJACENT TO THE RUNWAY WITH NO FURTHER DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT REPORTED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
