## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON TAKEOFF AT RIALTO AIRPORT, CA, AIRCRAFT LOST POWER, MOMENTARILY COMING BACK ON AND THEN ENGINE COMPLETELY STALLED OUT, NO BACKFIRING NOTED. AIRCRAFT MADE AN EMERGENCY LANDING ON AN OPEN FIELD STRIKING OAK TREES WITH IT'S LEFT WINGS. POLICE ENTITIES BLOCKED STREETS FOR APPROXIMATELY 1 MILE AND ALLOWED AIRCRAFT TO TAXI BACK UNDER ITS OWN POWER BACK TO THE RIALTO AIRPORT. ON 11/4/2008, A POWER ENGINE RUN WAS ACCOMPLISHED AT FLABOB, CA AIRPORT WITH SATISFACTORY RESULTS. FUEL FILTER BOWL WAS REMOVED AND INSPECTED WITH NO ABNORMALITIES OR DEBRIS FOUND. FUEL TANK VENT SYSTEM WAS INSPECTED FOR CLOGGING AND NO OBSTRUCTIONS WERE NOTED. AIRCRAFT OWNER AGREED TO SEND CARBURATOR OUT FOR OVERHAUL AND ADVISE IF ANY ABNORMALITIES ARE FOUND.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
