## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON OCTOBER 28, 2008, AT 1800 EDT, A CANADAIR CHALLENGER CL-600-2B19, S/N 7209, N751ML, FLIGHT NUMBER 7262, OPERATED BY MESA AIRLINES, INC. EXPERIENCED AN EMERGENCY EVACUATION AT THE SYRACUSE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (KSYR) ON TAXIWAY "M", DUE TO A SMALL FIRE EMITTING FROM ENGINES WHILE TAXING . THE LOCAL ARRF RESPONDED AND THE PASSENGERS AND CREW EVACUATED THE AIRCRAFT TO THE TAXIWAY WITHOUT INCIDENT. MAINTENANCE VISUALLY INSPECTED THE AIRCRAFT AND AIRCRAFT ENGINES WITH NO DEFECTS NOTED. THE AIRCRAFT ENGINES WERE RUN UP WITH NO DEFECTS NOTE. MESA AIRLINES MAINTENANCE ISSUED A SPECIAL FLIGHT PERMIT TO KIAD FOR FURTHER INVESTIGATION. INSTRUMENT METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AT THE TIME, AND AN IFR FLIGHT PLAN WAS FILED. THE AIRCRAFT WAS NOT DAMAGED, AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
