## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AFTER TAKEEOFF AND CLIMBING TO 20,000 FT THE PILOT IN COMMAND AND PASSENGERS NOTICED A BURNING SMELL WITH NO VISIBLE SIGNS OF SMOKE IN THE COCKPIT. THE PIC CONTACTED ATC AND REQUESTED A PRIORITY DESCENT BACK INTO BOCA RATON AIRPORT, ON DESCENT THE BURNING SMELL DIMINISHED AND THE AIRCRAFT LANDED SAFELY. MAINTENANCE INSPECTED THE AIRCRAFT AND FOUND THAT THE CABIN TEMP CONTROLLER SENSOR FOR THE HEATING FAN HAD BEEN DAMAGED AND HAD CAUSED THE SMOKE ODOR. THE CABIN TEMP CONTROLLER SENSOR WAS REPLACED AND A LOGBOOK ENTRY WAS MADE SHOWING THE DISCREPANCY AND THE CORRECTIVE ACTION TAKEN. THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
