## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THIS INCIDENT INVOLVES AN EXPERIMENTAL HOMEBUILT AIRCRAFT THAT WAS ON ITS FIRST FLIGHT AND FIRST LANDING. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE LANDED THE AIRCRAFT HARD AND THAT THE RIGHT LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED. THE LANDING GEAR IS OF SOLID SPRING STEEL AND IT APPEARS THAT THE ATTACHMENT FAILED. AFTER LANDING, THE AIRACRAFT DRIFTED OFF OF THE RUNWAY TO THE RIGHT AND ENDED UP ON A TAXIWAY. NO ONE WAS INJURED. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
