## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 11/11/08, AT APPROXIMATELY 0610, A BELL 206B HELICOPTER N281CB PILOTED BY ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, EXPERIENCED TOTAL POWER LOSS. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ STATES THAT HE SAW AN "ENGINE FAILED LIGHT" AND A "LOW ROTOR RPM" LIGHT. DURING THE SUBSEQUENT AUTOROTATION THE PILOT ENCOUNTERED SOME POWERLINES (AT THAT TIME SUNLITE WAS MINIMAL) AND MANUEVERED TO AVOID THEM, THIS RESULTED IN A HARD LANDING CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE HELICOPTER, THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE PILOT OR THE PASSENGER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA09LA047](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA09LA047), Nov 11, 2008: Bell 206B (N281CB), Boynton Beach, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: A loss of engine power due to an undertorqued air line fitting to the fuel control.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
