## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 21, 2008, AT APPROXIMATELY 1415 HOURS PST, N56SJ DEPARTED FROM STEAD AIRPORT (4SD) FOR A 30 MINUTE FLIGHT. DEPARTURE TRACK WAS ABOUT 060 DEGREES AND LEVELED OFF AT 7, 500 FEET. ABOUT 10 MINUTES INTO THE FLIGHT, PILOTS SCAN CAUGHT A LOW OIL PRESSURE READING AND HE TURNED BACK TOWARDS STEAD AIRPORT. THE PRESSURE CONTINUED TO DROP, AND THE #4 ENGINE ROD FAILED. THE PILOT WAS ABLE TO FIND A DIRT ROAD IN HUNGRY VALLEY AND MADE AN UNEVENTFUL LANDING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
