## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT WAS IN CRUISE FLIGHT, PASSENGERS ASKED THAT THE TEMPERATURE IN THE CABIN BE INCREASED. AFTER HEAT WAS INCREASED, SMOKE WAS WITNESSED COMING OUT OF THE PILOT AND COPILOT SUB PANEL, PASSENGERS ALSO NOTICED SMOKE IN CABIN. EMERGENCY WAS DECLARED AND AIRCRAFT DESCENDED TO FL120. WHILE DESCENDING CABIN DUMP WAS PULLED TO HELP RID CABIN OF SMOKE TO NO AVAIL. AT FL120 THE POWER WAS TURNED OFF OF THE AIRCRAFT AND THE SMOKE DECREASED. AIRCRAFT LANDED SAFELY AT BRIGHAM CITY, UTAH. MAINTENANCE FOUND THAT THE CABIN VENT FAN FORWARD OF THE PILOTS FEET HAD BURNED INTERNALLY, PUTTING SMOKE INTO THE AIR DUCTS OF THE AIRCRAFT. FAN WAS DISABLED AND AIRCRAFT FLOWN TO LONG BEACH CALIFORNIA FOR FAN CHANGE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
