## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AT APPROXIMATELY 1830 Z (1230 LOCAL TIME) ON 12/1/2008, A PRIVATE PILOT WAS INVOLVED IN AN AIRCRAFT INCIDENT WHILE LANDING AT THE ATKINSON MUNICIPAL AIRPORTS (PTS), PITTSBURG, KANSAS. THE AIRCRAFT INVOLVED IN THIS INCIDENT IS A PA-28-180, WHICH WAS RENTED BY THE AIRMAN. UPON TOUCHDOWN, THE AIRMAN REPORTED THAT THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN TO DRIFT TOWARDS THE RIGHT-SIDE EDGE OF RUNWAY 34. A CORRECTION FOR THIS DEVIATION WAS INITIATED BY THE AIRMAN BY APPLYING LEFT RUDDER PRESSURE. AFTER COMPENSATING FOR THE DRIFT, THE AIRMAN INDICATED THAT THE LEFT WING WAS RAISED, CAUSING THE RIGHT WING TO CONTACT THE GROUND. THE AIRCRAFT’S PROPELLER ALSO STRUCK THE GROUND WHILE CORRECTING FOR DRIFT. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE DURING THIS INCIDENT. NO ADDITIONAL DAMAGE WAS REPORTED BY AIRWORTHINESS INSPECTORS FROM THE WICHITA FSDO, WHOM CONDUCTED AN INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT FOLLOWING THIS INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
