## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON DECEMBER 7, 2008 AN AMERICAN AIRLINES AIRCRAFT FLIGHT 151 N381AN, A 767-232, S/N 25450 WAS STRUCK BY AMERICAN AIRLINES DEICER TRUCK 15582, WHILE THE AIRCRAFT WAS BEING DEICED AT O'HARE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. THE DEICER TRUCK WAS BACKING UP AND CAME IN CONTACT WITH THE RIGHT HORIZONTAL STABILIZER. THE AIRCRAFT WAS PARKED AT THE GATE AND HAD 177 PASSENGERS AND 12 CREW MEMBERS ONBOARD THE AIRCRAFT AT THE TIME.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
