## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 12/07/2008, PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS PERFORMING TOUCH AND GO'S IN AIRCRAFT N402BD, A VANS RV4, ON RUNWAY 12 LEFT AT VGT WHEN ON THIRD LANDING, THE AIRCRAFT CAME IN AT A "CRABBED" POSITION RESULTING IN A TAIL RIGHT ANGLE. AIRCRAFT THEN DEPARTED LEFT OF RUNWAY ABOUT MID-FIELD. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO STOP AIRCRAFT. PILOT APPLIED HEAVY BRAKES CAUSING AIRCRAFT TO GO TAIL UP. AS A RESULT THE PROPELLER AND SPINNER IMPACTED THE GROUND AND AIRCRAFT BOUNCED BACK TO TAIL DOWN POSITION CAUSING PROPELLER AND SPINNER TO BE DESTROYED. ALSO BOTH FIXED GEAR WHEEL SHROUDS TO BE SCUFFED AND DAMAGED. CONFIRMED DAMAGE ON 12/9/2008.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
