## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) WHILE BEING VECTORED ONTO AND ILS APPROACH, THE PILOT RAN THE BEFORE LANDING CHECKLIST AND DID NOT EXTEND HIS GEAR WHEN THE CHECKLIST CALLED FOR IT. THE APPROACH WAS FLOWN WITH A 40 TO 50 KNOT TAILWIND WITH GROUND SPEEDS REPORTED BY THE PILOT IN EXCESS OF 160 KNOTS. THE PILOT REPORTED THAT HE HAD HIS HANDS FULL, WAS VERY BUSY, AND FORGOT TO PUT HIS GEAR DOWN. HE ALSO REPORTED THAT THE GEAR WARNING HORN WAS SET TO SOUND AT 13" MANIFOLD PRESSURE AND THAT HE HAD FLOWN THE ENTIRE APPROACH WITH THE POWER SET AT 15" MANIFOLD PRESSURE. HE BROKE OUT OF THE CLOUDS, NEVER EXTENDED THE GEAR, AND LANDED ON THE BELLY OF THE AIRPLANE. AFTER THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO A STOP, THE PILOT SAID HE HEARD THE GEAR WARNING HORN FOR THE FIRST TIME.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
