## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

N873RW, ERJ-170-100 SU, WAS OPERATED BY REPUBLIC AIRLINES AS MIDWEST CONNECT FLIGHT 2151. THE FLIGHT WAS INBOUND TO OMAHA, NE, FROM MILWAUKEE, WI, WHEN THE CREW DECLARED AN EMERGENCY DUE TO A SLAT FAIL MESSAGE. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED SAFELY. CONTRACT MAINTENANCE INSPECTED THE RIGHT WING SLAT POSITION SENDER, GEAR UNIT, AND ASSOCIATED HARNESS. THE MECHANIC CLEARED THE SLAT FAULTS AND INHIBITS AND RAN THE SLATS THROUGH EACH POSITION, NO DISCREPANCIES WERE FOUND. THE AIRCRAFT WAS POWERED DOWN FOR 20 MINUTES. THE AIRCRAFT WAS POWERED UP AND THERE WERE NO NEW MAINTENANCE MESSAGES. THE SLATS/FLAPS WERE CYCLED FOUR TIMES, WITHOUT ERROR. NO CAUSE WAS FOUND FOR THE FALSE INDICATION. THE AIRCRAFT WAS APPROVED FOR RETURNED TO SERVICE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
