## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE WEATHER AT THE TIME OF THIS INCIDENT WAS REPORTED AS CEILING OF 200 FT. OVERCAST, WIND 260 AT 14 KTS; VISIBILITY 1 AND ½ MILES WITH LIGHT FREEZING DRIZZLE AND TEMPERATURE OF MINUS 2C AND DEWPOINT OF MINUS 4C DEGREES. TAXIWAY B-11 HAD NOT BEEN DEICED AND WAS NOTAMED EARLIER TO BE CLOSED WHEN RUNWAY 5L WAS ACTIVE. WHEN THE AIRPORT WAS TURNED AROUND AND 23R WAS NOW AN ACTIVE RUNWAY, B-11 WAS NOT NOTAMED AS BEING CLOSED FOR LACK OF DEICING. EARLIER, AN AIRTRAN FLIGHT HAD USED B-11 AND REPORTED TO THE TOWER THAT IT WAS FAIR TO POOR. THIS WAS CONVEYED TO SUBSEQUENT LANDING AIRCRAFT, BUT NOT TO DELTA 1274. THE DELTA FLIGHT LANDED IN THE TOUCHDOWN ZONE AND REPORTED PASSING TAXIWAY B-7 WHICH THEY WERE PREVIOUSLY ASKED TO DO SO BY THE TOWER. THE TOWER NOW TOLD DELTA TO EXPEDITE AND TAKE THE NEXT LEFT TURN, IN THAT IT HAD AN AIRCRAFT IN POSITION AND ONE ON A 3 MILE FINAL. DELTA CLEARED THE RUNWAY AT B-11 AT A SLOWER THAN NORMAL SPEED. THE NOSE WHEEL BEGAN TO SLIDE ON THE ICE. DIFFERENTIAL BRAKING AND REVERSE THRUST DIDN’T HELP THE SITUATION. THE AIRCRAFT NOSE WHEEL AND RIGHT MAIN LEFT THE PAVEMENT AND WENT INTO THE GRASS. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT OR INJURY TO THE PASSENGERS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
