## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON DECEMBER 21, 2008, AT APPROXIMATELY 01:00 EST, N1651TW A FALCON 20 LANDED AT THE CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY/JAMESTOWN AIRPORT (KJHW) LOCATED IN NEW YORK. THE CREW STATED THAT DUE TO THE CONTAMINATION PRESENT ON THE RUNWAY SURFACE, THE AIRCRAFT STOPPED 100 FT INTO THE RUNWAY OVERRUN. THE AIRCRAFT WAS POWERED OUT OF THE OVERRUN AND TAXIED TO THE FBO WHERE THE CREW DISCOVERED THAT THE NOSE LANDING GEAR STRUT HAD A CRACK IN THE CASE AND THE NOSE STRUCTURE WAS BENT ON. ON WEDNESDAY MORNING THE 22ND OF APRIL. THE OFFICE TOOK A PHONE CALL FROM THE COM CENTER THAT PATCHED US IN WITH AN AIRWORTHINESS INSPECTOR FROM THE PHILADELPHIA PA FSDO. INSPECTOR ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, APPARENTLY HAS OVERSIGHT OF A REPAIR STATION (FALCON JET FROM WILMINGTON, DE) AND THEY WERE ASKED TO PERFORM AN ESTIMATE TO REPAIR A FALCON 20, N165TW. ALLEGEDLY IT RAN OFF THE RUNWAY AT JAMESTOWN, NY BACK ON 12/21/2008. HIS POINT WAS THAT WHEN HE CHECKED,, THERE WAS NO RECORD OF AN EVENT REPORTED. A PHONECALL WAS PLACED TO FALCON JET IN WILMINGTON, DE AND THEY STATED THAT THE NOSE GEAR WAS BROKEN AND THE NOSE STRUCTURE WAS TWISTED ABOUT 1/2 INCH. A CALL WAS PLACED TO THE NTSB AND THEY DETERMINED THAT THIS WAS SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA09LA282](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA09LA282), Dec 21, 2008: Dassault/Sud FAN JET (N165TW), Jamestown, NY, substantial damage. Probable cause: The inability to stop the airplane on the remaining runway because of icy runway conditions. A factor was the failure of the drag chute to properly deploy.
