## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) UPON FINAL APPROACH INTO DLH THE ENGINE IS REPORTED TO "SPUTTERED AND STARTED TO LOSE POWER". AN EMERGENCY WAS DECLARED AND THE CONTROLLER WAS INFORMED THAT THE AIRCRAFT WOULD LAND ON HIGHWAY 61. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED ON A NORTHBOUND SECTION OF HIGHWAY 61 GOING WITH THE TRAFFIC. TOTAL ENGINE FAILURE OCCURRED. OTHER THAT ENGINE FAILURE AND COWLING DAMAGE THAT INCLUDES BLISTERING NO OTHER DAMAGE WAS PRESENT. EIR 2009GL150031 HAS BEEN OPENED REGARDING THE LAST MAINTENANCE PERFORMED PRIOR TO THE FLIGHT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
